There are a number of factors contributing to this increase, but many healthcare professionals lay much of the blame at the door of the disposable nappy-style toilet training pants that parents are using.
Their research also shows that there has been a steady increase in the age at which children become toilet trained. Back in the 1960s the average age for toilet training was 2 years old, and this has been increasing ever since then – coinciding with the introduction of the disposable nappy in 1961. The average age at which children become dry is now around 3 or 3 and ½ years old.
This not only affects your own economy, as more nappies need to be bought, but also affects the self-esteem of your child!
Children who use cloth nappies learn much earlier to control their sphincters, and with considerable less effort by their parents. The reason is that when they wet their nappy, they become aware more quickly that they are wet, and with a little encouragement, they soon learn to control their sphincter muscle, and so to become big boys and girls faster and with more success.
At Ecopipo, we really care about your child’s whole well-being.
